The Falling Skies Podcast S4E9 – Till Death Do Us Part

Cochise and his View Master
Cochise and his View Master

This episode is dedicated to Paul Anka and his hit classic “Puppy Love”.  Cochise uses a View Master and says a few dirty works.  Shame on you Hal, for treating women as property.

Props to one of our listeners for identifying  a poem by Emily Dickinson as the reference to the title of last weeks episode..

“Hope” is the thing with feathers – (314)

ByEmily Dickinson 1830–1886 Emily Dickinson

“Hope” is the thing with feathers –

That perches in the soul –

And sings the tune without the words –

And never stops – at all –

And sweetest – in the Gale – is heard –

And sore must be the storm –

That could abash the little Bird

That kept so many warm –

I’ve heard it in the chillest land –

And on the strangest Sea –

Yet – never – in Extremity,

It asked a crumb – of me.

The Falling Skies Podcast – S4E8 – A Thing with Feathers

Falling Skies Pope and SaraThis episode should have been titled, “A Case of the Yips”. We are still trying to figure out what the episode title refers to.  Could Pope and Sara at least have bathed before doing the dirty deed? Has Dingaan gone soft over the death of his family?  We now know why Sara had such a big pharmacy at the farmhouse.  Will the sharing of spikes be a bigger attraction then true love?  Now that two of our heroes have seen the green dot on the moon, what next?  I want a Hershey bar!!!!

Sample of the shells used in Tector’s gun.

The Falling Skies Podcast S4E7 – Saturday Night Massacre

FallingskieslourdesWe say good-bye to three characters on the show this week. Lourdes (on the show from the pilot), Dr. Kadar (season 3), and Tector (season 2).  Be careful when you ask for around Lexi.  With the infrastructure gone, how can there be an active high pressure gas line? This was one way to reduce the overall budget. Is Maggie still alive? Will Tom get out of his trap?  Did Tector miss shooting the overlord on purpose? Will Ben be reharnessed?  Will Lexi be the ruler of us all?

The Falling Skies Podcast S4E6 – Door Number Three

FallingSkiesDoorNumberThree

Art and Karen became millionaires this week with the long awaited gift from King Arthur.  Too bad that it is Zimbabwe currency. Lexi spent most of this episode sleeping, going through what will be her final transformation.  Will she be friend or foe?  Ben has an erotic dream about Maggie.  We keep hoping the triangle will be short lived. The question for the week is, did Anne visit the Esphani ship more then once?  The timeline seems a bit off to us.  Listener feedback.  We have a vote that one of the Mason boys will not make it to the end.

We are millionaires.

The Falling Skies Podcast S4E4 – Evolve or Die

fallingskiespopeunboundMira Sorvino joins the cast as a female Pope.  Nothing good can come from this.  The cancellation of the show was announced this week.  At least it will get a conclusion, many shows are not as lucky.

With 18 episodes remaining in the series, the question now is: “Who will make it to the end?”  We are glad to see Hal get past his wimpy phase.  We say good-bye to Jeannie.  How will Weaver react over the next few episodes. Was it just Art off on a tangent, or is Lexi going to evolve into something that no one can control? Thanks to our listeners for their feedback this week.

Peter Shinkoda (Dai) has major recurring role on Daredevil

Falling Skies has been renewed for a fifth and final season.

The Falling Skies Podcast S4E3 – Exodus

FallingSkiesExodusFrom the last scene in this episode, will we be seeing the new Skitters this week? Will Matt be rescued before Cochise can save him? What will become of Lexi now that Anne has found her?  How many episodes will go by before Tom and Pope are at each others throats? Another scene this week with a full moon.  Glad to see ‘Evil Karen’ had a cameo this week.

Listener feedback this week from a variety of sources.

The Falling Skies Podcast S4E2 – The Eye

fallingskiesmattuniformArt and Karen review this weeks episode of Falling Skies titled “The Eye”.  We discuss the upcoming conflicts.  With Hal staring at the full moon, Art reinforces his theory that the moon will be blown up by season end.  We begin to handicap which female characters will meet their demise. (…and missing Crazy Lee).  We meet creepy blond boy. Matt has a girlfriend. We learn the origins of the giant wasps,  Is it just us, but is the upcoming relationship between Ben and Maggie just creepy?  Dr. Kadar make his return.

fallingskieslexiThis episode attracted 4.7 million viewers on Sunday

Greg Beeman’s Blog – backstory on this episode

Well, you just can’t trust the Volm.  You have the enemy on the ropes and they abandon you.  With the adult Lexi, is there a chance that she is part Evil Karen.  Why didn’t Ben have a catheter if he was in a coma for two months?  We lose another cast member in the first few minutes of this episode.  He needed a better agent.

The Falling Skies Podcast S3E10 – Brazil

falling_skies_volmThe Volm appear in spades in the third season finale.   The opening for today’s show was sung by Peter Allen.  We reach the end of season three with no real cliffhanger as we had the first two seasons.  Will we be talking about the show over the winter? The role of adolescent Lexi is played by Erika Forest.  Will we see her next season or will we have an older Lexi.  Art this this is an opportunity for Moon Bloodgood to play two roles.  Will we have Cochise next season?  Art was wrong about Lourdes dying by season end, but now wonders if she will start dating Hal?  Weaver using the term ‘concentration camp” was interesting.  We have some excellent feedback from our listeners on the Volm. The death of Evil Karen leads to a rift with Haggie.  We wish Jessy Schram well in her future endeavors

The Falling Skies Podcast S3E9 – Journey to Xibalba

FallingSkiesJourneytoXilbalbaSeason 4 will have 12 episodes

In this episode of Falling Skies, we learn that Tom is an accomplished sailor.  Lourdes outs herself as the mole. Seychelle Gabriel does some of her best acting of the series. Maggie and Hal patch things up.  Is Anthony scaring us by kissing grenades and having C4 on hand? Does Tom have an eye worm? If so, who will shoot him. Who will take out Evil Karen? Who will be the next overlord? Art goes out on a a limb (again) and thinks it is Dr. Anne. What will be the cliffhanger next week? Was Matt a Debbie downer or what? Dr. Kadar get to play engineer next week. Art and Karen speculate what teh season ending cliffhanger will be.

The Falling Skies Podcast S3E8 – Strange Brew

FallingSkiesstrangebrewSo… Boston, New York, Chicago, Jacksonville. Art & Karen rate this episode as one of the top three of the series.  Did you spot all the Easter eggs in this episode?  Was Doug Jones glad to have an episode where he didn’t have to wear make-up? We get to meet “Jazz Pants”.  If you could only take one thing to remember the person you love, what would it be? Did we all cheer when Karen got shot?  This episode borrows heavily from a Christopher Nolan movie, which TNT ran right after.  We also briefly discuss the “Gaslight” reference. Art & Karen speculate what the season three cliffhanger will be. Are Anne and Lexi dead? Karen manages to tie this episode to the series “Fringe”. Were we expecting Bobby Ewing to step out of the shower? We also discuss feedback from a listener about “The Pickett Line” episode and his attempt to tie it to “The Walking Dead”

The Falling Skies Podcast S3E7 – The Pickett Line

FSPLordesbugs Falling Skies Emmy nomination for outstanding visual effects  The mole is revealed, and the house pays those who picked Lourdes.  Did anyone really see that coming? Question will revolve around how she became infected, and will she be gone by season’s end. I had hoped Stephen Collins was going to be in more then two episodes. Will the Pickett’s be the saving grace for the Mason’s? Tom, you should know better then to trust someone like yourself. it looks like we are setting up our heroes to return to the road.  What does Pope have over Maggie, and why doesn’t Maggie play her hand like she threatened to do. Spikes can be explained away as a bad case of acne. Mmmmmmm….marinara and meatballs.

The Falling Skies Podcast S3E6 – Be Silent and Come Out

FSBeSilentThis episode of Falling Skies was brought to you by Goodyear.  The answer of the week is “It doesn’t matter now”. Art and Karen visit another Falling skies/Xfinity event and score some t-shirts. Are the writers purposely make Lourdes look incompetent as a doctor. Is Marina the Manchurian Candidate? Shouts this week to “The X-Files” and “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome”

The Falling Skies Podcast S3E5 – Search and Recovery

FStomandpopeOn this episode we make it to the halfway point of the season, and we answer the burning question, does moss really grow on the north side of a tree? The season four renewal officially comes in. How much of BattleStar Gallactia will be in episodes next season now that we officially have a new showrunner?  How many films does Falling Skies pay tribute in this episode?  I have “The Defiant Ones”, “Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid”, and “West Side Story”.  We learn a bit of additional backstory about many of the characters. It is clear the Pope does not make a good neighbor.  Is this why Tom resents Pope? Based on tonight’s episode, Art has a new theory the Tom may be the mole. Are we sorry to see Bressler go? It is confirmed the Moon Bloodgood is done for the season.
